You're a lucky man! It's not summer here yet... but I expect to ride the sum total of 0km's for about the eigth or ninth summer in a row

I really need to get my bike done...

I put something like 2,500 miles on my bike this summer.
No particularly big trips though.

Here's a picture from a pitstop in June. Eastern Pennsylvania, not too far from the Delaware river.

And me with my regular riding buddies, August. Just a local trip.

(that's an 86 'glide and an 06 'wing)

From March until now, it's been almost 13k mi, the largest part being my trip to CA and back (in GS stories). Here's one of the pictures on my way home.

This one goes with the bike and tent picture in my signature...:)

Loads of fun, now I have to get the bike running right again.

Not so good this year. :(

Most of my time this year has been in my van, on work assignments. I usually take my bike instead of the van, but one thing or another has forced me to take the van, so it has been getting miles instead of my bikes.

Total so far:
Wing: 9126
My 850: 2200
Van: 15,000 (since mid-May)

Last year I racked up over 26,000 miles on the Wing and only about 5,000 on the van, which is a much better proportion. :D

.

Only about 1800 miles for me this year....so far. Since I only live about 5 miles from work, and haven't been on any trips this year on the bike, riding has been a bit sparce for me. Such a shame.

Fantastic pics, BC is awesome! Thanks for posting those. I spent half my summer wrenching, so I didn't put too many miles on - I don't know how many I turned. I still got some nice enjoyable rides in.

Something about the Katana conversions that just make me stop and stare! Great pics Rob!

It was to dang hot to log any significant mileage here...:( but the riding season has just begun! :D

You aren't kidding about that. My longest ride this summer was from Spring to College Station taking an indirect route, about 220 miles. It wasn't bad going out there in the morning but I came back in the middle of the afternoon and thought I was going to spontaneously combust. I had to stop every 30 minutes and drink a quart of water and couldn't hardly sit on the seat by the time I got back.

I do have about an 800 mile weekend trip planned in a couple of weeks, my first overnight+ trip on a bike:). Can't wait.

About 2,000 miles so far. My first season, and most of my riding is purely for transportation. I haven't had too many chances to get out and explore simply for pleasure. I need some warmer gear! Starting to get cold round here.

I moved to Florida from Maine for a few months this spring into summer. I felt the same way. It was like riding in a convection oven! I would burn my butt on the seat every time I sat on it if I didn't remember to put my little towel over the seat. I even felt that it was too hot to ride. I would take my truck to work just to use the AC. Not used to that damn humidity. Heat index of 115 is not ok!

Anyway.. I would have gotten more miles on this summer if it wasn't for the heat, but I am just under 4k so far on the bandito and I will be putting 600 or so more on this weekend. Can't wait.

First year, first (road) bike. I did about 2,300 mi and counting. Statring to get cold. Hope to do 3K by seasons end. Making plans for winter projects. Need to do valve adjustment and more detailing.

4,500 so far, it's getting cold but I'm used to that:D. On the money side not too bad had to change stator and throttle cable, managed to modified an old honda rpm cable to replace my broken one and of course oil change and filter, tires but that's normal maintenance.
BTW loved my 650E 82 a lot, it give me great smiling moments since I got it.

Also first year riding. I did about 4500 miles or so. Took the odo from 17,000 to 22,500 before it got smashed to bits :o.
My new gauge says 53,000 on it. Any one know of a way to roll that back?

Really though an excellent first 'season'. Since the GS is my only form of transport, other than the public variety, I don't really plan on stopping to put the miles on. Call me young and reckless.... I'll probably agree :D

I think I put on 7,000 or so, my odometer just turned to 91,000.

Rob, I hacked up that Kat fender, trying to fit it under my forkbrace, and the little grill underneath doesn't line up very well, no fault of yours though.

This shot is in North Dakota somewhere

I've put almost 9k on the Vulcan since April. Unfortunately between a string of snowstorms and starting maintenance projects without getting back to them, it only got a few hundred miles from December through March. Hoping to do a bit better this Fall/Winter.

I think I did around 9000 this season. 7000 on the 1000G not counting the 2 trailer rides, and several weeks out for electrical rebuild. 2000 on the 850GL, I think, maybe not quite.

Some nice shots there Carter. I came back last week with the same bug situation. I had to stop twice along the trip to clean my visor/head light. When I got back people commented on how many bugs were on my visor and head light, but, that was only 1/3 of them. I was only gone a few hrs, about 400kms.

Katman,

I wanted to comment on your photos. This one in particular. Nice photo of the scene, nice photo of the road, nice photo of your bike. Nice photo of the scene and the bike and the road all in one shot.

I've clocked about 20 on it so far.:o It's my second GS that I just recently purchased, and I'll be on that road soon after a good tune-up this weekend; I really can't wait to burn a few on the odo.
