Register to access the full functionality of the GSResources forum. Until you register and activate your account you will not have full forum access, nor will you be able to post or reply to messages.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

If your user name says

Oh yes, I'm Special!

I want "Super Site Supporter" under my username! :)

Ed

Seems like it's a default title based on the amount donated. If I remember correctly you have to specify not to have the supporter status noted under your name.

I donated more than $25 so I asked to be upgraded!

As outlined on the donation page, any donation of $25 or more is listed as "Super Site Supporter".

Yes, if you click the "Remain anonymous" box, there will be no notation with your avatar and username to show that you have donated, regardless of the amount.

I can't speak for the motivations of others who choose that option, I simply choose not to brag about it.

I thank you for the reminder, Big T. Apparently I am not the only one that has been remiss in the remittance department.

... and the $25 is the POST-Paypal amount. To be a "Super site supporter" you'd need to kick in at least $26.06. I think this is spelled out somewhere.

Typically, the only way I get reminded that it's time to ante up is when I look at something I've posted and notice the 'Former' in the heading. I should have some automated reminder.

I'm a long-timer and much to my shame, I haven't kicked in for a while. :(

That has been corrected, and I'll set a calendar notice to take care of this regularly from now on.

This is a good time for us Northern hemisphere folks to contribute, too -- we're not spending every spare cent on gas, GS parts, and lodging.

It's nice to see PayPal is finally an option. I haven't written a check in years, and that makes it much easier.

PayPal does indeed truly suck, but... it's so convenient and universal we're sort of stuck with it. Personally, I use Square for taking credit card payments, or the Cash app (also from Square) for P2P payments.

Just sent in my tithe to the church of GSR. Theres one heck of a body of work here. It would be a shame it it was lost.

I donated.

Frank, I recommend setting up a subscriber option. It is pretty easy to do in paypal if you don't want to do the work to integrate it with GSR.

I am just finishing up adding subscriptions by stripe on my own website. I would be happy to help integrate if you are interested. At the very least, we could make the "Super site supporter" automated and tied to the paypal subscription.

It's interesting that you use the term, "tithes" loosely; are you part of the Bible group?

Ed

No, but donating to the site reminds me of a free will offering.

Sorry Glen, I was raised Pentecostal/Assembly of God and that's what came to mind. He doesn't need our money, but the church needs to pay it's bills.

I did the donate deed.
Paypal through the 'donate' button - it seems to have worked. ?
I spend more money on more foolish things so this is an easy choice.
But do I have enough posts to be in this malcontents and ne'r-do-well club ?

I think its money well spent... Ive saved money buy learning tricks and tips from the members here, to say nothing of the great advice Ive gotten from members like Ray, and deals Ive gotten from members on stuff that I "needed".
Thank you for the forum.

Leech status corrected. Had thought about doing it on & off for a long time. Just needed a little push.

I have been contributing for 3 years, thanks for the reminder Todd. This site could never be duplicated. Except the Vortex, that is duplicated everywhere....
