A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Is there a "show off your engine" thread?

Well, is there?

I'd like to see what you've done as far as paint, polish, detailing, etc.
An inspiration and idea thread, of sorts. Stock or custom, mild to wild.

OK, I'll play.

I have always liked the "black and chrome" look that I saw on many bikes. After painting my wife's bike, I learned that Suzuki painted their engines starting in '83. I don't assemble and decorate my bikes to strict origiinality, so I kept the black and chrome look. Both engines are stock. The only 'modifications' are a K&N insert in the stock airbox and a header of unknown origin on my bike.

My wife's '82 850L.

OK, got carried away a bit with more than just the engine, but you can see it follows a theme.

Yeah, it looks like it belongs with a different crowd, but I do take it regularly to my Goldwing gatherings and rides, where it is readily accepted.

Maybe a moderator can move this?

Steve, are the shiny bits polished or chromed?

Scott..you can move it. As the Originator of the thread you should see ADMINISTRATIVE at the tool bar. Find the selection allowing you to move the thread. May be under THREAD TOOLS too.

Yes, they are. :-\\\

It depends on what it is. If it was originally chromed, it was just cleaned very well. If it was aluminum, it was polished until it LOOKED like chrome.

Which specific parts are you questioning?

.

My first bike, Suzy, got a little different treatment than most. I went with VHT titanium blue engine paint and a satin black for the not polished covers. I thought it went well with the stock blues and blacks of the body work.

That's pretty nice. I've never heard of the titanium blue before.

I had it wrong, it is titanium silver blue SP403.

BTW, don't use clear on top. It yellows with heat.

WOW, Photobucket is TOTAL garbage these days... I haven't logged into it in quite a while...

Hopefully that worked... I have better ones somewhere. Going to have to find another hosting site though...

Very nice. :encouragement:

For those that can see it.

Since you have apparently logged in to Photobucket lately, be aware that their policies have changed. And they have changed to the point that virtually any forum user (here and many other forums) are replacing the "b" in the middle with an "f".

If anyone is using Internet Exploder as their browser, they can't see your pictures. If they are using Chrome, they can only see them if they have installed a patch that lets them do that. I usually use IE, but when I can't see a picture, I will fire up Chrome, which is what I had to do to see your pictures.

Bottom line: yes, we ALL need to find a new photo hosting site.

Photos don't come up in Firefox either.

I can see that picture with Firefox Earl. I installed that patch that somebody posted but I can't remember who it was or where to find the patch........
