A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

More '82 GS1100E love from Yammie Noob

I have 130 rear tires on my "T". It worked for me.

That GS1100 is so beefy!

I don't know, I thought the one guy was a weenie. Maybe if they would have replaced the brake lines it would of helped with the braking. . And that seat does not do the 82 1100e any justice. Lube up the shift linkage and get a new clutch cable would do it wonders... Of course that little 700 is going to be lighter and more nimble !

Yeah, I would like to see the kid with the E get the clutch and brakes squared away, and get a proper seat on it. The white seat is just gross. :disgust:

Rider was complaining about the brakes...not joining the GSR probably limited his knowledge on fixing them.

It's the precursor to the Busa...huh? Interesting.

I call mine the grandpappy of the Busa, i.e. the GuSa. Or maybe it should be GrandBusa

Right spot on Norm. That guy was a weenie rider.

Not impressed by their shallowness of knowledge.

Agreed, but it is nice to see someone producing any kind of content that features a GS. Yammie Noob does have almost a million subscribers. I did comment on the video with a link to the GSR so we could help the kid get the bike in shape. We’ll see if he shows up.

Evidently he was referring to my bike at 3:04 per a comment I made and he responded to.

Kind'f of what has been known forever. They're just commenting on the refinements that have been made over the past 40 yrs.... Would have been much the same if in 1982 if someone compared a GS1100 to an old CB750 or KZ900 & that would have been only 10 yrs.

I remember the same feeling of "I think I'm gonna die" after riding my gs750 for the first time after I got my license and being used to a modern gsr600, it wouldn't turn, wouldn't brake and the whole thing was just crap!
Turns out all that was just because of neglect, after sorting out the brakes, suspension and putting some new tires on it transformed the whole bike and I had no trouble hustling that thing on the twisties

That newbee guy is a dweeb.
The whole premise of the video was to *@%^$*@%^$*@%^$*@%^$ on people restoring old machines.

If you want to compare old bike capabilities with new bikes, get one that's in new condition. The lack of knowledge these guys are showing leaves me seriously unimpressed. I had this same bike nearly new, 3K in 1982, and the brakes & handling were just fine. It's also better looking easily than those plumbing nightmares they are pushing today.

The guy seems like a bit of a drama queen based on my only watching this episode.
Agreed, that a well sorted bike would be a better comparison.
