    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

we already have a sticky for factory carb specs, why not make one where people post their carb specs as far as jetting and whatnot with a detailed description of the setup on the bike and maybe anything they have noticed as far as dead spots. i think this would help people who are thinking about switching to pods but are unsure of jetting. this may also help lessen the number of threads we have about rejetting carbs.
this is the information i think should be in it
year of bike
model
engine size
exhaust
intake/filtration
any other mods that would change the jetting.
maybe round about elevation of where you live
all jet sizes.
needle adjustment
where you got the jets from and what rating system they use such as mikuni, dynojet....
anything you have noticed as far as flat spots in power.

anyhting else you guys think should be in there?
is this even a good idea?

tuning is not exactly the same

tuning is not exactly the same

2 of the exact same bikes, exact same combinations. They may, and often do require drasticly different tuning specifications.

I imagine there are a lot of guys that have exact info from a good running bike and they cannot get their own to run right. hmmmm. yep ton of threads like this.

so do not worry that you are a bad mechaninc. cheating off of your neighbor's test paper will not make your bike run right.

learn to READ your plugs. WRITE down exact notes and keep exact track of what you did and did not do. observe and LISTEN to your engine.

tuning is an open book quiz if you can read, write and listen.

I think building a jetting database is a great idea only that someone would have to do it since Frank is unlikely to make room for a sticky anytime soon (based on past history anyway). I'll bet if someone would put it together, Cliff would host it on his site.

So who wants to be administrator?

You wouldn't be busting my butt now would you? :(

Making a thread a sticky takes 2 seconds. If you want something done, all you have to do is PM me.

Ok then, lets have a sticky!:D:D:D

piester list of suggested details seems good, what do the others think?

I'm not into pods/headers so don't have much input beyond this so make it good guys!
