• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

The words insight and incite are pronounced the same. But one of them will get you banned and the other will not. Before hitting the Submit button be certain which of the two better describes your post.

    Welcome!
Register to access the full functionality of the GSResources forum. Until you register and activate your account you will not have full forum access, nor will you be able to post or reply to messages.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

I have been playing this game on another forum and it's a lot of fun. It gives people the chance to post a pic that fits the current theme thereby opening up more possibilities in many locations.

Rules:

  1. Today is Saturday, I'll start with a theme.
  2. Saturday to Thursday is submissions time. Everyone else can post one (and only one) picture that meets the theme.
  3. Friday is voting day. Vote for the picture you like the most. You can vote even if you didn't participate with a pic during the week. (voting closes at midnight, Pacific time zone).
  4. In case of a tie during the voting day, the first vote that breaks the tie the day after will decide the winner.
  5. Saturday, the winner of the week posts a new theme using an example picture.
  6. The example picture ALSO participates.
  7. Any bike can participate... not only GS's (as long as it was yours when the pic was taken)
  8. The date of the picture does not matter, you can use new or old pics as long as they meet the week's theme.

Summarizing:
  • Saturday to Thursday: Pics that meet the week's theme are submitted.
  • Friday: Vote for your favorite pic of the week.
  • Saturday: The winner posts a new theme using an example photo.

Okay folks. For those just finding this thread here are the rules from the first post ....yeah I know, but we got rules. It's been great thread and please join in with a photo for the theme of the week.

Sorry, didn't take the time to read everything, didn't realize it was a game, post are deleted.

Do introduce yourself in the "Owners" section. Tell about yourself and that 850, especailly its custome paint (or is that European?).

Nice to see you back.
I haven't been too active in the riding game the last couple of seasons, but not for lack of desire.

Curious about the Titan, as I'm a 2 stroke fan..... different threathread I suppose.

Welcome.

Welcome.

.

Good to see the new contributors.
And all are welcome to vote. .

We have a record number of entries this week, and a record number of new contributors this week also. (So, let me yack about a few things.)

Vote tomorrow Friday (Pacific time).
Need not enter a photo to vote.
To vote just make a posting on Friday.
Comments and critiques are welcome (all have been polite so far), but if you say "I like this one for blah blah, and I like this-other one for yammer yammer." You will also need to say which one you "vote" or "select".

The submissions for this week start on posting #393

Weither you vote for the picture that shows a road that is more lonely than any other picture,
or... you vote for the the picture you like the best (for whatever reason) that does show a road that is at least somewhat lonely,
or... you vote the picture that best shows the road to be lonely while also being an interesting picture (for whatever reason)......
That is up to you.

Vote for the picture you like the best that meets the critera of showing the bike and the topic-subject-theme this week of
QUOTE Lonely Road. Doesn't have to be a dirt road, just some place that looks like not much activity, but yet a road. END QUOTE

Note: The winner of the vote doesnt win anything.
Is just a means to select who makes the selection of the next week subject-theme-topic (by naming that and posting an entry photo).

Certainly that can't qualify. :-k

I mean, ... LOOK. There's a car in the picture. How "lonely" can it be??? :-\\\

Welcome, Mr. Bill. :encouragement:

.

Certainly that can't qualify...........
Not just ONE car either but TWO:p
I am not King Of P O W, but lets see,
Well, there is a bike, and there is a road.
So, I would say: It qualifies basically. (Even if it did not, there is no mechanism/procedure to disqualify/remove it.)

How much of a "Lonely Road", and how good of a picture, well, that is up to the discretion of the voters.
