A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Pic of the week game

Let me try to get these 16 entries in 2 posts. If I miss any, please let me know.

First the theme from gustovh- "not quite stock"

"not quite stock"

Not quite stock, this was taken not long after I added the IMS 6.6 gallon tank and the top box.

The bike was gold and blue when I got it.
I added the SUZUKI stickers, and I bought and painted a fairing.
I did have the lowers, but I didn't get a closeup of them.
The horse and rider is the emblem of my trade as a Methodist preacher -- it's a "circuit rider". For many years, Methodist pastors would ride their horses between maybe half a dozen little churches, maybe on a monthly basis. I put the emblem on my steel horse.

Gerr, I wish it was all stock! Damn Kerker pipe, the Delkevic muffler, and silly king queen seat.
Anyone have a 4-2 let me know! I want it to be stock.

Best,

It will never be the scrambler I sometimes want it to be, but I like it. A much younger me would have tried to climb the hill in the background.

Actually, its about the only thing on my 1978 GS1000C that's not stock!

My non stock LED tail light unit. It does it all...

Hmmm.... not quite stock, eh?

There's so much about this bike that's not stock it's hard to point out one thing. Everything from the Trucklite headlight, 650 forks, and Salty Monk twinpot brakes (550T only had single disc) to the Hagon shocks, LED lights, and R/R.

Stepped out in the garage to see what I could possibly use . . . . . . .

Some more "not quite stock" wiring.
Pretty sure Honda didn't use alligator clips in their wiring harnesses....previous owner syndrome!

Cool theme, Gustovh. I've enjoyed seeing the mods you all have done to these old bikes. Wish I had chosen a better pic to post. There isn't much about my 850 that isn't stock though so I was stretching it a bit.

I wasn't sure if Grimly lifted the hood of his car or what we were seeing there. Then I noticed the cam chain tensioner and top of the starter cover. That's an impressive setup.

Voting for Dpep. Fun photo! That may be the most comfortable looking passenger seat I've ever seen.

When Grimly posted here years ago about the SU carb swap there were a number of naysayers. Definitely one of the more unorthodox modifications I've seen here.
Grimly got the last laugh and gets my vote this week.

Happy Saturday Morning GSR....Let's tally the votes.

With one vote each, Dorkburger and Grimly
With three votes, Baatfam

And with 8 votes for a big win, dpep!

Probably no need for confirmation...LOL...

Thanks, guys. I have shown that picture before but not the one below that shows what happened to that queen seat from the Walmart. I was making a trip to upstate NY for a rally at which I was going to pick up some GK luggage to replace what got broke and bent on an unmarked curve a few months earlier. But without any mounts my bags kept trying to slide off the seat. So I went to the Fayetteteville WV Walmart to try to come up with something that I could make work until I got the rest of the way to NY. This was the result of my handiwork.

So let's continue in that vein and make Luggage our theme. Hard bags, soft bags, luggage racks, tank bags, whatever. How do you carry your stuff?

I bolted a rubbermaid container to the luggage rack. This provided a waterproof place for me to put a suit and dress shirts without shoving them in a duffel bag. I put rubber feet on the bottom so when I got to a hotel I could carry the container into my room and not get the floor nasty.
