A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

I had a GT380 for a little while. Definitely had a weird shaped top of the motor. shapedto suck in air for cooling. Cool bike. Never ran though. It had set outside just too long to save.

I was probably 17 here (sitting behind my dad) in 1991. Wasn't much for taking pictures back then so this is the only pic of any of my bikes until decades later. Mom must have snapped this one of Dad and I on my first bike, a Rebel 250. One of the rare occasions that he was home as he was a long haul trucker. He's only 47 in this pic. Seems really weird that I'm now just a bit older than he was here and now I have a grandson that's as old as I was sitting on this Rebel, but I digress.

Wait....you have a 17 year old grandson? and you are not even 50?

It's didn't used to be all that remarkable in Scotland and Ireland for young'uns to get wed and start popping them out at 16. I knew quite a few grandads who were in their early 30s, and many more in their late 30s.

1. Honda Cub CA100 - No photos
2. Suzuki TS185 - No photos
3. Kawasaki H1 Mach III

Thought about using this one....

That's actually where my ancestors on both sides are from, coincidentally, according to my DNA tests.

Also coincidentall, or not, is all of our kids and now oldest grandkid (step- grandkid if it matters) riding motorcycles.

bob, you packed up and running away from home.?... looking off in distance in direction you are heading...... (same look on face as a more recent (year or two ago) selfie of yours on remote road with bike)

I know I have older pics of first bike in 1979 (kz400)......
But I found this 1983 pic.....

Daughter in front (I am presntly at her house with two kids).
And, yep, that me (if you wonder where the Redman name came from).
JustinRedmanson (that some of you have meet at BC rallya few times). That is the bike he learnt to ride on.

My wheeled roots reach back to long before we felt the need to document it. Mini bikes, go carts, etc. Heck, we may have been 30 something years ahead of the current off road mower trend. The oldest machine (timewise) of mine I have pics of... Honds's absolutely brilliant ATC 250r. Mine was a 1986- the watercooled swan song of the range. I was a bit of a cocky bastard hillclimbing and ripping around in the sand pit on that thing.

Wow guys...this has been really fun getting to see stuff from your youth and to hear the stories....thanks :)

Glen, that 250R was a monster. When I was trading up from the Yamaha 200, I picked the tamer 200X when I bought new in ‘86. Even that got me in enough trouble. I think the 250 2stroke racer would have killed me. And that’s a fantastic pic. Can I vote now?

Last minute entry. First picture I have of me with a motorcycle--from Aug 1969. I purchased it new in Portland OR and rode it cross country to Ft Gordon (Augusta) GA coming back from my last VN gig. There are better bikes for touring. :)

Good Morning and Happy Friday, GSR! Let's review our photos and vote...

First the theme of the week by trevor:

...a pic from your youth....or one of your oldest pics of your motorcycle?

Great turnout this week! Fun photos! Thanks!

Don't forget to vote, and if anything is amiss, please let us know...

Great Stuff, all!. Gotta vote for my fellow three-wheeler, Dorkburger. We used to ride in the same kind of stuff, but here in central PA, the sand dunes and hill climbs are black coal from abandoned mine lands.
