    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account.   • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I removed the swingarm and installed it the rightway now so I have to make some 13.5 struts and bolt them to the swingarm. It also move the wheel assy alittle to the left and the slick fits right in there. I need to do a burn out and see if is going to touch anything. Getting there slowly.

No more 7's for this Dude
 
Jake, how much pressure you plan on running? I found that with my M/T slick, 11-12 psi is about right and I really don't have to do burnouts to get traction. ( I know you want to do a 5th gear burnout to see how much the tire grows and if you have enough clearance).

You will really need those wheelie bars now. Have fun and keep safe!

I was going to start with 20 psi and go from there. I don't know how much it will grow, 1-2 inches or more ??. I'm guessing the sidewalls will get smaller as the tire try's to standup at higher mph and that should give me more sidewall and chain clearance.

I wait a few weeks before I install the bars just to see how she runs without them.

Do you have any problems with the slick spining on the rim at that PSI.

Not yet, but bear in mind, I am just running a stock 750 motor.

The other thing you want to be aware of when running low pressure in wrinkle wall slicks is that it is possible to get the rear end to start bouncing when shutting down on the big end. It can feel scarey if you don't know it can happen.

Talking of tires unloading have you ever seen the video of Terry Vance falling when they first started using car tires on pro stocks? He looked like a pogo stick. Jake how much offset are you using on your front sprocket? Remember that stock output shaft is hollow. They will break. If you do go into it for any reason upgrade your tranny bearings also. Need a tranny undercut got local guy here that does them and I think his work is better than most places like MRE.
 
Right now I'm just using two flat washer behind the counter sprocket, maybe 3/8" offset. I got a 5/8" offset but I'll have to mill down the long round spacer behind the sprocket cause with the 5/8" my 630 chain hits the frame.

Later today I'm going to recheck everything and see what needs to be
done.

What does he charge, I've seen about $200 to undercut the tranny.
 
Jake how much space is there between the slick and rear fender. It doesnt look like there is enough or even a smll amount of tire distortion.

What size mains are you using with those open pots??

I have about 1 1/2" clearance between the tire and the fender now.

I'm running 165's in GSXR 750 38mm carbs now and it runs strong with VP 103 fuel.
 
i know this is way off topic , but ive noticed that u arnt running any air filter? i have tried this on my bike an i could never get it to run right, how much of a jetting change did u have to do to get the bike to run right, thanks

With no air filter's and a 4 into 1 exhaust my bike needed alot bigger jets. The jet kits were just to small, the biggest jet in my kit was a 138 and the bike was still to lean with stock CV34 carbs. To make the stock carbs work I had to use 150's.

In your case I'd try some 150's and go from there.

Another example: My GS750 with open header and no filters (velocity stacks), I went from 105 to 122 jet size on the stock (non CV) carbs.
 
The clearance looks good now jake but did you need that arrow to show you which way to point the bike when racing :lol:
 
:lol: :lol: Scotty, Well that arrow's there so when I do a massive wheelie and flip the bike upside down the safety crew know's which way to push it back over.

The slick is used and I had my indy mount it in the same direction the previous owner had.
 
That's a motorcycle repair shop that has no tie's with Suzuki, HD, Honda etc. Some are good and some are bad. The bad one's go out of
business fast. My guy has been around for years and does good work, does alot of same day service at half the price of the dealer's.

Another way off topic but for some reason a drag racing memory hit me. Our bikes turbo exhaust exited in front of the foot pegs(not as bad as it seems with a 80 inch kosman chasis). On nitrous the heat generated was awesome. A friend that rode occasionally had his shoe burned off.....strings and all....man thats funny thinking about picking him up on the return road and him without a shoe or sock. He learned to not get his foot in the way of the exhaust to say the least.
