    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted.   • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

will hayabusa pistons fit a gs1100e

i have a guy selling a set of stock hayabusa pistons. I was wondering if it will fit a gs1100e, and what would need to be done to make them fit and what will the cc's be after done, also is it a good cc for the street ? anyone done them before? Ray plz help

can i use my stock crank, oh btw its a 1100e black engine 1983 model. Also after i get the 89-92 gsxr 1100 liners, and a gs1150 block, what do i bore the liners at? and what size base gasket, head gasket , and wat brand do i buy? also i can use my 1100e crank and dont need a 1150 crank?
 
With the Gen 2 Busa pistons (2008 & up) you can use the 1100 crank. AGAIN, the issue is that you will have to deck the CRAP out of the block to get the deck height correct as the compression height on the Busa piston is a lot lower. Ray.

ok so with 08 pistons it'll be that easier to adapt and make a big bore kit. So all I need is 08 pistons and wrist pins, 89-91 gsxr 1100 cylinders, and a gs1150 block? Say I obtain all that, what size base gasket, and headgasket do i use, and does cometic sell it?
 
08 and newer Busa pistons have an 18mm pin, like the 80-83 1100. 1150 cylinders are supposed to have more material around the bores for the larger gsxr sleeves. They have to be the 1127 sleeves which have a 78mm stock bore. I used an 1150 block and when it was bored out for the new sleeves, there was breakthrough which can cause oil to work its way up the sleeve and leak. I had to have the machine shop seal them with threebond. The cases also have to be taken apart and opened up for the bigger sleeves. I used 80mm JE pistons, but the sleeves can go 81mm fine, you just have to have the block decked 0.080" or so IIRC for the Busa pistons.
 
Would you deck the top or the bottom of the block?
How would decking the top and reducing the thickness of the flange ring on top of the sleeve affect things?

Well, the top has to be decked anyway with new sleeves, so I dont know why you would consider doing the bottom while the sleeves are out.
Thickness of the ?ring? you mean head gasket?

Would you deck the block and then bore it and make a ridge deep enough for the flange to fit into or would you set the sleeves in and then deck the block with the sleeves in place.

I'm just thinking its better to have as much material for the flange as possible, so why no deck the bottom of the block most of the way and just do a surface cleanup on the top? I'm just curious but I might be over thinking it.
 
The Hayabusa pistons have the wrong deck height and the wrong valve reliefs for your GS engine. Why not do the job right and just get pistons that were actually designed for the GS motor? There are plenty of choices out there like JE, MTC, and Wiseco.

I'm all ears for a new combination / an engine recipe as I calls 'em

I'm planning on building a gsxr head on a GS - looking thru old threads - asking questions getting correct info etc... so any and all good information would be appreciated greatly

In my EFE the block is decked 1.5mm from the bottom before pressing in the sleeves. After that the top was decked 0.5mm.
If I need to do the same again I would deck 1mm from the bottom and 1mm from thee top before installing the new sleeves. Then after installing the sleeves 0.2 - 0.5 mm from the top.
If taking too much from the bottom, the bolt that holds cam chain guide can bottoming in the block. I need to grind 2mm off from the top of that bolt.
I have no base gasket in my bike, only slightly Hylomar.
 
You could have used silk thread for a base gasket like they would on aircraft engines.
