Trying to figure out which cam goes to my engine. I have a 1983 GS1100GL. One of these is the original cam, but I've lost track of which is which.
I have one set of cams stamped R3, and uses number 12 short hex head bolts to join the two sides together. The exhaust cam is stamped B on one side and K on the other. The intake is stamped A on one side and 9 on the other.
I have another set of cams that says R4, uses socket head cap screws to join the two sides together, and has crescent moon shaped plastic pieces on the center where the 1 and 2 for the timing is. The exhaust cam is stamped with G and L. The intake cam is stamped K and A and R3.
Both are 30 tooth, and don't look very dissimilar, but I want to know which were the original.
Thanks for the help.
