A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just put down a deposit on a like new 1982 Honda FT500 Ascot with 4,535 miles. Going to pick it up on Saturday! Wanted something different and found this bike in great shape. Will post pics when I get it home.

Finally got off of this thing long enough to take a picture! Fun little bike, but a little small for this old guy. May just hang on to it and see what she is worth in a couple years when she turns 40!

Very nice.
Being such low mileage and stock i would bet it increases in value rather well.
The crappy ceramic that Honda used on the exhaust from that era is one of the first things to go.

Within the past couple of wks., A local guy just bought a VT500 Ascot, 8000+ mi. Really looks good, but like said it looks too small for a 500. The guy here weighs appx. 240lbs. seeing him riding it down the road on it looks like a duck on a june bug. Yours looks red, like a Honda dirt bike red, The one near me looks more like the metallic deeper, maroonish, Maui red, like the red on the "83" CB1100F Honda. Either way, they both bring back memories. Congrats.

Congrats on nice bike,
Please resist the temptation to put a pod filter on it, just re jet and go. Go to the Yahoo ascot group, tons of useful info about everything on this bike.
Enjoy!

Well, I did it again! Bought ANOTHER 1982 Honda FT500 Ascot. This one needs a few small things fixed, but it only has 6,300 miles on it. Honda Red like the other one. I'm pretty sure this one will be for sale when I get all the little things fixed! Why does anyone need 4 bikes they keep asking?????? I always answer, why not!

Got Ascot #2 home today. Put a battery in it, added fresh gas, drained the old gas out of the carb and she fired right up!IMG_0042.jpg

Just out of curiosity how do you like riding the Ascot? A friend of mine has a VT500 Ascot and I always found that the seat wanted to push me forward and the pegs seemed too far back. It was probably the most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden.

Its a fun little bike to ride. I'm 5'11" and the seat does push me forward some. I would not want to ride it on a 1,000 mile trip but they are fun to ride around the horse farm backroads and in town!

How do you get them to stick to the wall like that, and why did you put blacktop on the wall? :-k
