I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

How cold is it up in Taos? I've been along the east side of the Rockies about a week now and it's been getting into the 20's at night at about 8000' Considering moving south a few weeks, the Aspen's are just now starting to leaf out which is the same weather I left in Michigan the end of April.

We came through the mountains to the East which was way cooler, but Taos was very warm. We were overdressed arriving there. Folks walking around the plaza were in shorts and flip flops. River rafters in swim suits were all up and down the Rio Grande. Bring your shorts and shoot the rapids if you have time.

Anyone hear from Dave "Road Dog" Redman? He should be getting close to home. He's out there riding his BMW RT from San Diego to Michigan. I'm sure he'll be full of stories. 👍

Yesterday morning got an email about Vegas traffic and a couple road delays on Saturday....
Haven't heard anything since then....

Made the run to Taos yesterday, scored BIG TIME with an Adobe camp shelter in Rio Grande Gorge! Probably had the most comfortable night sleep since I left home about six weeks ago.

Did you go over the Gorge bridge? That always knocks my socks off, no matter how many times I see it.

Fastino's, a local restaurant, hosts a classic car night every Wednesday night. I rode over last night to see the turnout this week and saw some fantastic cars. I parked the bike off to the side and walked around for a while enjoying the super cool cars and trucks under an overcast sky. The threat of rain kept a few owners from coming out but still the turnout was fantastic.

After rounding the parking lot I went to get on my bike to ride away and the owner of a hot rod truck approached me. His reaction of my bike was similar to mine of those cars. It was humbling, honestly. I said you know, the 850 wasn't exactly Suzuki's most sought after bike of that era. He was well aware of that, but still walked around looking intently at the bike. He showed me pics of some of his custom cafe builds and we talked for another half hour. He encouraged me to enter the 850 in a show coming up and swore it would win awards. Boy, that's the highest compliment this thing's ever had.

I told him it's not a show piece, I own it to ride it and it shows. All the little nicks, scratches and signs of use add something special, he said. That "patina" can't be recreated. Even the Vetter stuff was of particular interest to this guy.

What a fun thing this was. Sorry, no pics of the cars, but I did get this one afterward.

Sure makes a good start to the day. I'm envious it's a regular thing for you to start this way. Except of course when it's colder than a witches t!t outside, then....not so much.

I was able to ride to work today actually. Just an eight hour class for an EPA lead paint renovator certification. All I had to carry was a pen. Passed the test and now I'm legal again.

I took the Road Hog out last night for its first ride, and my first ride on a Harley Davidson. After doing the much needed maintenance on the motorcycle I figured I'd take it out for a ride to see what all the hype was about. First of all I can't get use to the forward floorboards. I think once I take off that heal shifter I'll be able to move my foot back more. It putts down the road fine. I decided to take it out on the highway. To my surprise it will cruise at 70mph with no trouble. However, when I twist the throttle I want to go! The Harley makes the noise like it wants to go, but it just doesn't. I guess I'm to use to the FJR. When I twist the throttle on it, I put the traffic a mile behind me in about 10 seconds! The motorcycle makes 64HP and I have the Dyno print out to prove it! Yeah, no kidding the previous owner put it on a Dyno machine! The previous owner was my stepfather. He passed away last November. I decided to take the motorcycle and try to get it running good enough to sell. I figured since it's legally in my name I'd put insurance on it and ride it a little this summer. I'll see how my riding partner likes it, she's never been on a Harley either!

Norm, seriously? a Harley? that's putting a real strain on our friendship buddy. Don't bring that trashy thing out to Bedford.

I hope you know I'm just yanking your chain. Ride anything you want as long as it has two wheels. See you in 12 days.

Haha, I'll be on the FJR at the rally. I'll be heading out west for a three week motorcycle vacation leaving Sunday after the rally. I want to see what that U.S. Route 50 is all about. 🌞
