Our county fair is once again having there annual Bike Nite tonight. It's a fun event where you ride your motorcycle and park it right on the midway! Talk about good parking. If you decide to enter your motorcycle in a judged competition there are a few categories to choose from to fit your motorcycle type. Cruiser, sport bike, touring... and vintage. I enter my GS's in the vintage class. What I think is nice about this show is there are no 100 point concourse restorations or "trailer queens" is what I like to call them. It's more of a ride in show, however there are some very high quality motorcycles that show up. My 81 1100e won the vintage class two years in a row 2011,2012 In 2013 a Goldwing won it. Yeah, I know a Goldwing? I didn't make it last year, I had a important golf outing to go to. But this year I'll be there looking to take #1 back with my 850g. I have it all polished up and looking good. It's its turn to shine. My 1100 is going to stay home this year, I don't have anyone to ride it there. My friend Paul is out of town... I'll post results and pictures later tonight or tomorrow. Wish my little 850 luck! :)

Looking forward to the pictures and hopefully awards. Have fun and don't throw up on the Octopus :D

Well folks I just got home from the Bike Nite and I'm happy to say the ol'850 got second place in vintage motorcycle! It got beat out of first by a 70's old school Harley Chopper. It really was a nice motorcycle with gold plating and engraving (remember that) Third place went to a 450 Honda twin. There was a 1932?Harley there (he was trying to sell it) sure it was nice but he trailered it in he won nothing, he did congratulate me though. It really was a fun time, got to chat with some fine people and eat some fine fair food. :)

Hey!! congrats. Great write up, I liked the "in confidence and comfort" .... that's a good ad.

Congrats Norm!! Your bike is awesome ( I've seen it wow)
Sorry I couldn't make it, next year I will as I'm making plans to work much less hehehe!
I hope you ate an Italian Sausage for me...

It's been another year and the Canfield Fair Bike Nite is coming this Thursday night, September 1st. This year I'm going to take 1000e. I have it cleaned up now, but I still have to detail it. I'm looking to take back first place with the 1000. As of now the poor 850g is going to stay home, unless I can find a rider to ride it there... I'll keep ya posted on the results. 👍

Well, the Bike Nite Show was last night,I came home empty handed. The motorcycles looked good. They must of wanted to give to first place to the little Honda this year. I'm not sure what I'm going to fire back with next year.... hmmm, maybe a 1000S! ☺

2017 Canfield Fair Bike Nite. Well it's that time of the year again for the Canfield Fair Bike Nite, it's tomorrow evening Sept 1st. I'm only taking one motorcycle this year. I don't have anyone to ride the 850 this year. So, I'm just taking the 1000e. Hopefully with its new wheels, that will help it to place in vintage motorcycle. I'm going to wash it up tonight, I have the day off work tomorrow so I'll be able to do more detail work before I go. I like this show because everyone rides there, no trailer queens. I've won with my other motorcycles in the past, but never with the 1000e. Hopefully this is the year that it shines! ☺

1st place in vintage motorcycle tonight at the Canfield Fair Bike Nite!👍

Good job Norm. That looks just like the bike I had in my garage just a couple of months ago.

Thanks guys for the congrats. There wasn't as many motorcycles there as in the past years. I think the weather might have scared people away. But a nice turn out never the less. It was nice talking to interested non motorcycle people. I tried to talk a wife into letting her husband get a motorcycle, that was fun. Lol There was about 12 vintage motorcycles in my class. Two little matching Honda Cubs, (poof-can restoration). A Honda 750, a old Harley... Then there's always the $50,000 restored trailer queen that shows up. This year it was a 1952 Indian with a side car. Yes, a beautiful motorcycle but wrong type of show. I'm happy for my 1000, after everything it has seen and done this past year, it deserves a little recognition.☺
