    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Carb Synch

  • Thread starter Thread starter BigVic54

After you get the slides back in and the caps on top raise the slide by hand and hold your finger over the oval shaped hole at the top of the carb. If the slides stay up when you let go of them the rubber diaphragms are good, if they don't either you haven't got them sealed or the slides are bad. These guys are trying to help you, ****ing them off isn't in your best interest. Sure you will get some crap but just deal with it. There are several recent threads on carb synching if you search for them. There are very smart people on here and Id personally be lost without them, chef1366, rapidray etc. I posted a bench synch one myself yesterday or the day before but Im not the caliber that they are

I understand and agree with you, Katarat. I appreciate the help from the members. I guess I've just gotten so much attitude on sites like this I'm a little burned out. Most people want to help but there are always a few people who think they know it all and like to mess with newbies. I apologize to everyone except Tkent02, who is still a douchebag.

... and installed a Thunderslide. ...

What's a "Thunderslide"? :-k

Never heard of one.

By the way, I just re-looked at the first post and see that this is for an '82 GS1000.
What part of the world are you in that you found one of them?
The chain-driven 1000s ended in '80, the shaft-driven 1000s ended in '81.

i should have said Dynojet kit. The bike is a 1982 GS1100.

A Thunderslide is a plastic type material CV slide that Dyno-Jet makes for Harley Keihen carbs, its lighter and theres a lighter spring that goes with it, supposed to be more responsive. Its a waste of money. As far as the bench synch goes I did it then put my new Morgan Pro on my 1150 and they were all over the place so I don't know if its even worth the bother
