A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I thought if there was no vacuum on the petcock, gas would be shut off. I have my tank off to fix a pin hole leak, when I tipped it over to the petcock side some gas left in the tank ran out the fuel line . Anyone know if that,s normal? I wish it just had a leaver to turn it off and on.

It should be shut off IF the petcock is set to "On" or "Res". If it's set to "Pri" it will flow regardless.

If you want to just turn it on and off....get a Pingle.:)

Hi,
Gas should only flow freely if it is in the "PRI" position. That's the only gravity, not vacuum, setting those Petcocks have. In the "ON" or "RES" position gas should only flow if there is vacuum pressure, i.e. the bike is running! Good luck!

Dumb like me.

Dumb like me.

Ok, I had my petcock on PRI. Now it works, turned to on. I have to use a screw driver to turn mine is the little leaver thing missing ? I have been mistaking a electrical problem for a fuel problem. When I would take the bike off the charger it will run like a champ. The longer it ran, the worse it would run. Backfiring, wouldn't idle, then would stop. I,m thinking why is this thing running bad after it gets warmed up ? and I would try to adjust the idle and airscrews, check for air leaks ! Dumb ---! The battery was going dead. So I will start checking electric stuff. I would appricate any advice on the best way to procede. :o

Is the little lever missing, or did it never have one? You didn't say what bike you have, but if it's an "80" model, it probably never had a lever. Suzuki used these new & improved pet cocks for one year, then saw how inferior they were compared to their old ones, then went back to the old styles.

Sadly, the petcocks were only "new" and definitely NOT "improved". :-\\\

To add insult to injury, the mounting location and the bolt spacing were different, meaning that you could not simply replace it with a newer or older petcock. :(

Then we won't have to guess anymore.
