For the prices you can get a new one for in the sales I wouldn't buy used.... Different matter if a trusted friend or someone well known on here gave/sold me one.
Key differences between cheap and expensive helmets seem to be removable pads... (daughters so must be clean girls right??) wind noise (teach them to wear ear plugs) and weight. Weight diff is never that much and it won't take them long to build any extra muscle needed..
Sometimes true,
AFX FX-96 Multi Full Face Helmet is for Street and Cruiser enthusiast. Clearcoat finish. Flush-fit head and chin vents. Fully removable and washable hypoallergenic nylon liner. Optically-correct, compound-curved, scratch-resistant, UV-treated, flush-fit face shield. Removable cheek pads. Ample ear cavity for speakers
Out of a $25 helmet, can't beat that. Same stuff they use in their $200 helmets just a different shell and different weight
