A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Without trying to hijack Catmans post(which I have found really interesting) was wondering what are some of the hottest temperatures you have ridden in.

Today it was 42degC or about 107degF in my hometown.

Cheers Brenno

Hootest? Is that something like the most Hooters bars you have stopped at on a single ride? -jk

Now there's an idea for an New England ride.
Manchester NH to Burlington VT\\:D/

We can call it the "Hotters 125" run.

I remember one July morning it was 79F at 4:30 AM !!!!! For the first time ever I rode to work in a Tee shirt. The ride home at 3:30 PM was like a hot hair dryer blowing in my body and face. It was 97F on the way home.

Not sure. It was somewhere north of 100 this year during a 4.5 hour ride up to Wellesley Island.

The Heat index was 105* when I left for the JoJo Rally last August. Not a Hooter's in Sight though!:-D

118F or so...

118F or so...

I used to wear a Levi Jacket and soak it with with water every half hour or so, jeans too. Turn myself into a human swamp cooler. It's really not that uncomfortable until you come to a stop. You have to be careful going cross country, if you run out of drinking water you will die.

Large breasted women work at Hooters, but where do the one-legged women work?

Riding home from the "1ST Annual" Western States GSR Rally in July. It was 105 F after I came over the Sierra's. Felt like I was riding through a blast furnace. 150 miles of hell. I stopped in Tracy. Found a shady spot behind a shell station to rest (me and the bike). I kept thinking, "it will be better over the next hill,...the next hill,...the next...

That was the first day of a 12 day heat wave. My 1100 made it through like a champ. Thank goodness for oil coolers! I was soaked with sweat, and lost 6 pounds over that weekend.

I think it snuck up on 100 here a few times this past summer. Gets hot in all that gear. I miss sweating my ass off on the bike. I'm freezing right now and the bike is still apart.
I think I'll go work on it.

:-D
Hottest for me Stove Pipe Wells, Death Valley CA 118 degrees....according to a sheltered out door thermometer at the gas station / general store.....Mid July, 1996. Rode from Las Vegas NV via Death Valley to Bishop CA and return....3 days......on my 83 GS1100ED. Bike was naked....I wanted to be.....

lol :-D :-D

115 degrees F last summer. I want to take a ride out to Death Valley next year. It's about a six hour drive.

I can top that by 1 Brenno, 43 degrees at Cobar at 4.30 in the morning, heading from Adelaide to Brisbane two years ago. I've never been so miserable in all my life. Really scared what little that I have that passes for a brain was going to cook. Really wasn't concentrating on riding, just surviving. All in all, really bloody stupid.

Man, you've got to do something about your Avatar. From here you look just like Norman Gunston.

Still you've got to give it to the little Aussie bleeder, best impromptu 12 bar blues I've ever seen, him on Harp, Frank Zappa on accoustic guitar.
Dead set blew me away.

Highest I have seen was 115F/46C in Kansas City.

At traffic lights I was aked if I was insane, as I was wearing both a leather jacket and helmet.
