    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

That's an interesting bike but why do you say Holy Grail? Isn't that bike just a reduced displacement 900?

There are only 21 of these registered in the US, values greatly exceed the Z1

When is the last time anyone has heard of or seen a Z2? Check out the value...

Wow Joe! I had no idea they were worth that much!

Yeah crazy indeed, this one was purchased in 1975 in Okinawa Japan by a gentlemen who was in the military and brought it back to the states. Far as I know they were never sold n the US.

Want me to throw up the photo on KZrider and ask for thoughts?

I would think that like most rare bikes the HUGE dollars come with a bike in stock condition.
Having not seen a pic, how far from stock is it?
Do any of the 900 parts crossover? Is it still considered legit if they do crossover?
If it is in the $25,000 range you are not going to want to ride it.

I vote keeper. Its not gonna loose value so keep it for that real desperation moment when selling it bails you out of a jam. Does it have a Z2 designation stamped on the engine or something?? Just curious as to how to ID one should i ever be looking at one and not know.

Have you checked to see if Barber has one? Thought about going so far as to check the bores? (or have certain knowledge that PO's never messed with it)? Done any research as to original colors? I would vote for careful accurate restoration and resell, providing the cost of the resto was covered in the sale price. Then again, you always have a lot of other tasty and rewarding projects going on, maybe it doesn't make 'business sense'.

I wouldn't restore it other than maybe fix the mods performed by the previous owners. The paint job for sure is wrong. Not sure what else other than the exhaust.
