Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

One BIG thing in Eastern Tennessee is the TVA - The Tennessee Valley Authority -
Which means dams, lots of dams, I mean a whole damn lot of dams...
(TVA also has a damn lot of dams next door in North Carolina)
This is the Norris Dam from last summer...one of the smaller dams.
Up above is the very large, and very popular, Norris Lake.

Ok, I'll play! Of course the big thing in my area is bourbon, really good bourbon at that!

Big Thing around west Michigan is Lake Michigan, and big thing in town is the river channel and piers into Lake Michigan. During late spring and summer and early fall the piers and boardwalk along the channel is full of people out for a stroll. Later in the fall I can get bike down there without causing much attention.

THis is the north pier walkway. Can see a couple people.
Can see are more people are on the south pier which is closer to town and at the state park & beach. Is also fall 2018 after the pier was rebuilt, but before the catwalk was put back into place.

Yah, A Big Thing here. On New Years Eve (Eve? Day?) two people from across the state drove over to this side purposly to see the Lake and the pier (although in Holland) for the first time in their life. They both got washed off the pier by a wave. One of them made it back out, the other one has yet to be found. A not uncommon happening.

Here, in this view of the south pier, you can see what I mean by catwalk. Is an elevated walkway, to give the lighthouse attendant (no longer required) access when were waves over the pier.

Anyway, just found it ironic and humorous. Took this picture in 2018 when I was there at Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts.

I'm going to have to do some thinking on this one. Perception vs realty, vs what images I have on hand..

The Mothman is certainly big around here. Point Pleasant, WV...

Did they ever rebuild the Silver Bridge?

Just learned, collapsed in '67, rebuilt in '69. I didn't know. It wasn't in the movie, and we don't no get no mothmens around here. :confusion::confusion:

Not to my knowledge. I mean there's a bridge there but I don't think it's The Silver Bridge.

I just attended a funeral of a man who crossed the Silver Bridge twice on the day it fell. So there ya go. He had been a trucker.

Toughie...
I guess we have some Big Snow falls and some big dummies that ride in it :p

Challenging topic Roger.
FYI I'll be in your neck of the wood on the 16th of June... Camping Moab then coming into Albuquerque NM for 5 days to visit my best friend that's out there right now.

Cheers!

Well this was a big thing in my area....it was at a Chevron station for years until it was moved to a local farm a couple of years ago. I took this about 8 years ago after I had first gotten my 750

Looks like It'll be another difficult vote this week.

Your pic this week accompanied by the mention of Moab and Albuquerque in June just don't go together.
Remember, if you eat hot chile in the summer time it actually cools you down. Weird huh? You'll see...

I understand there will be many new challenges while undertake this journey but isn't that the point of life? To encounter new and exciting challenges that make you grow and develop into a better and more dynamic person? :o

Jedz, you're going to have a blast on your ride next summer! I love being out on the road. With all the different people you meet and all the interesting things you see and eat.

(start a separate thread so we don't jack this one to much. I'd like to here more about your plans.)
